St. George, Utah

Today we got the greatest pleasure of going to St. George to do some site seeing and then some shopping. We first stopped at the Tabernacle. What an amazing building. I had never been inside before and loved the stories they told and the significance of the building in St. George.

We had such an amazing time. The missionary that took us on the tour was a convert from California, and somehow knew that we were all active members of the church except one member of our group (you guess who). He started to tell stories of his conversion mixed with all the historical stories which was most interesting to hear. I think he was following what the spirit was telling him. We then moved to another part of the tabernacle and again started to share his testimony again of the truthfulness of the gospel. It was evident that we were put in his path today and he was there for one reason only and that was for that one person in our group to hear his story and feel the spirit from him. I can't tell you if it made any difference, but it sure made the rest of us feel the importance of this small trip to just a few places. It was a pleasure to be there and hear what the spirit conveyed to us in the tabernacle this day.

After that we went to find the old Bishops store house that was bought by someone and converted into an art museum and that was nice to see as well. Up the road we stopped at Brigham Young’s home. They had refurbished the house, even down to its original colors. It’s always amazing to see the simplicity of it all and it was nice to hear the stories and for my kids to see and feel of the spirit there today.

We drove around looking at some other sites and didn't make it to the temple visitor center, but it was a nice trip. Of course, the day wouldn't be complete without some shopping. After all the nice time we had looking around we went to Tai Pan Trading store and my eyes were so overwhelmed with all the many fun things there was to see. All in all it was a nice relaxing day. I realized today that no matter what the spirit works in mysterious ways, even if we don't realize the outcome of what happened the Lord knows and thats all that matters.
